Egypt’s Cabinet approves Toshka logistics zone to support South Valley trade

Egypt’s Cabinet approved on Wednesday the launch of contracting procedures with a specialised transport company to develop an integrated logistics and services zone in Toshka, south of Aswan, as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s trade infrastructure.

The 30-feddan project will complement a planned dry port in Toshka and facilitate trade, transport, and logistics activities across the South Valley, the Cabinet said in a statement.

The government said the project forms part of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s strategy to position Egypt as a regional logistics and trade hub while encouraging private-sector investment in high-potential development areas.

The logistics zone is expected to strengthen supply chains, expand commercial activity, and support Egyptian exports, particularly agricultural products from Upper Egypt, along with other goods and commodities.
