Egypt’s stocks close higher on Tuesday, 04 August 2026

Egyptian shares closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark EGX30 index rising 0.75 per cent while small- and mid-cap stocks outperformed and non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers.

The EGX30, which tracks the country’s largest and most actively traded companies, ended at 54,501.70 points, while the EGX33 Shariah index rose 1.57 per cent to 6,260.84 and the EGX35-LV gained 0.84 per cent to 6,623.75.

Small- and mid-cap stocks outperformed, with the EGX70 index climbing 2.61 per cent to 19,796.97 points and the broader EGX100 gaining 2.17 per cent to 25,825.06 points.

Market capitalisation stood at 4.074 trillion Egyptian pounds.

Non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers, with purchases totalling 1.574 billion Egyptian pounds. Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers, recording net sales of 989.120 million pounds and 585.528 million pounds, respectively.
