Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed mostly green on Thursday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30 went up by 0.03 per cent to 54,676.86 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33 added 0.08 per cent to 6,331.46 points.
- The index EGX35-LV fell 0.18 per cent to 6,678.41 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70 gained 1.14 per cent to 19,990.69 points.
- The EGX100 index advanced by 0.94 per cent to 26,106.42 points.
The total market cap reached 4,103,811,222,637 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers with 117,004,699 Egyptian pounds and 308,084,922 pounds, respectively. On the other hand, non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with 425,089,620 pounds.
Top gainers
- The shares of Glaxo Smith Kline went up by 20.00 per cent to 397.720 pounds a share.
- The shares of Samad Misr -EGYFERT rose by 16.06 per cent to close at 272.790 pounds a share.
- The shares of El-Nile Co. For Pharmaceuticals And Chemical Industries jumped by 14.39 per cent, closing at 310.000 pounds a share.
Top losers
- The shares of Catalyst Partners Middle East –CPME dropped by 4.73 per cent to 30.000 pounds a share.
- The shares of El Ahram Co. For Printing And Packing fell by 4.72 per cent to close at 13.930 pounds a share.
- The shares of Egyptian Iron & Steel sank by 3.60 per cent, closing at 32.980 pounds a share.
