Egypt’s annual headline inflation rate declined to around 12 per cent in October 2026, from 12.8 per cent in September, Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Rostom said on Thursday.
Monthly inflation also slowed to around 0.6 per cent in October, compared with 1.5 per cent in September, Rostom said during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly.
The monthly inflation rate had reached 3.3 per cent in March before easing by 2.7 percentage points over the following months, reflecting a slowdown in the pace of price increases.
Rostom attributed the decline to a relative easing of inflationary pressures following price increases in previous months, indicating an improvement in the pace of price stability.
