European stock markets advanced at the open on Tuesday, with miners posting some of the biggest gains as most metals climbed.
The Stoxx Europe 600 index rose 0.4% to 332.63, on track to break a two-day losing run. Among country-specific indexes, France’s CAC 40 index gained 0.3% to 4,385.34, while Germany’s DAX 30 index picked up 0.4% to 9,305.56. The U.K.’s FTSE 100 index added 0.3% to 6,712.27, buoyed by miners.
Shares of Anglo American PLC advanced 2.3%, Rio Tinto PLC rose 1.6% and BHP Billiton PLC put on 0.9%. Inchcape PLC rallied 5.7% after the car dealer reported full-year earnings.
