Egypt’s Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy headed to London on Monday to meet his British counterpart William Hague as well as other British officials, state-run news agency MENA reported.
Fahmy and Hague will discuss bilateral relations between the two countries in addition to a number of regional and international issues important to both Egypt and the UK.
The foreign minister will also meet with the UK’s national security advisor, secretary of state for international development and other officials.
Fahmy is scheduled to participate in a lecture at a UK research centre as well as meet with UK journalists and media outlets to explain Egypt’s current situation and its path on the roadmap to democracy since the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi in July.
Egypt’s FM recently returned from a visit to the US, after which the US appointed a new ambassador to Cairo, its first since former ambassador Anne Patterson left in August.
