Egypt’s FM to meet with Syrian Opposition, US Politicians in Cairo

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is scheduled to meet with a Syrian opposition delegation in Cairo on Saturday, state news agency MENA reported.

They will hold discussions on finding a political solution to the conflict in Syria that will ensure the unity and independence of the country.

Cairo has been a strong advocate for a political solution between all parties in conflict-stricken Syria.

The opposition delegation is visiting Egypt in preparation for a Syrian national opposition conference in Cairo this spring.

Shoukry will also meet with a delegation from the US Congress to discuss US-Egyptian relations as well as regional and international issues.
