A road linking between Egypt’s Alexandria and South Africa’s Cape Town- known as Cape to Cairo road- will be finished in the upcoming few months, Egyptian Industry Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour said Sunday.
Abdel Nour added that the road would highly contribute to facilitating the trade motion between Egypt and all the South African countries.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian minister stressed on the importance of the tripartite free trade pact grouping all the regional African blocs; East African Community (EAC), the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (Comesa), and the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The pact is expected to open a new gateway for the Egyptian products to three blocs’ markets without any tariffs.
Moreover, Abdel Nour added that the African products are to have tariff-free entrance to Egypt’s markets after the pact.
