The Egyptian government will organize an investment conference in Upper Egypt on September11-12, investment minister Ashraf Salman said on Saturday.
The event will be in the presence of Egyptian, Arab and foreign investors who are interested in investing in Upper Egypt region. Like the country’s Economic Development Conference held last March, the government will showcase a number of proposed projects located in Upper Egypt.
Salman noted that his ministry is cooperating with the governors of Upper Egyptian cities to set out feasibility studies that will include preparing an investment map for each and every governorate.
Furthermore, the Egyptian minister stressed the importance of updating the economic and investment data on each governorate periodically and continuously to evaluate its contribution to the country’s GDP as well as estimate the unemployment rate and identify the investment opportunities there.
