Egypt’s exports to the United States increased 2.1 percent from January-July 2015 despite the decline in the trade movement between two states, minister of trade Tariq Qabil stated Wednesday.
The minister made these remarks during his meeting with Stephen Beecroft – American ambassador to Cairo- to discuss means of enhancing the joint economic cooperation.
He said that Egypt is keen to strengthen the bilateral commercial and economic relations as a part of the mutual strategic relations.
Qabil said he received an invitation from the U.S. Trade Representative to start negotiations to activate the framework agreement on investment and trade between Cairo and Washington seeking to create more liberated bilateral trade exchange.
Such an agreement will also contribute to enhance the economic ties between Egypt and USA as well as to encourage more investment partnerships between private sector businessmen from the two countries.
