Cairo bourse ends week in green, EGX70 solely drops

Egyptian stock ended the week with gains estimated at 668 million Egyptian pounds (US$85.3 million ) on local and Arab appetite.

The market capitalisation has recorded 415.592 billion pounds during the closing session of Thursday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 edged higher by 0.58 percent to 6427.82 points.

The newly-launched EGX50 EWI index increased 0.33 percent to 1101.04 points.

EGX20 boosted by 0.19 percent to 6290.97 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 solely dropped 0.21 percent to 350.43 points. The price index, EGX100 rose by 0.01 percent to 745.22 points.

Turnovers low

On Thursday, the bourse’s trading volume has reached 246.420 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 474.138 million, exchanged through 15,039 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 165 listed securities have been traded in; 62 declined, 63 advanced; while 38 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers on Thursday capturing 73.88% and 3.86% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 13.604 million and EGP 6.186 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the foreign investors were net sellers getting 22.25% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 19.791 million, excluding the deals.
