Cairo bourse concludes with modest losses of $14.9m

Egypt’s stock market slightly declined on Monday with losses  estimated at 117 million Egyptian pounds (US$ 14.9million) on Arab and Non-Arab sell off.

The market capitalisation has recorded 424.583 billion pounds during the closing session of Monday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 dropped by 0.07 percent to 6744.47 points.

EGX50 EWI index went up by 0.03 percent to 1173.77 points.

EGX20 declined by 0.31 percent to 6831.37 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 decreased by 0.32 percent to 370.37 points. The price index, EGX100 sagged by 0.06 percent 769.05 points.

Turnovers up

On Monday, the bourse’s trading volume hit 187.514 million securities, with turnovers closed at  462.136 million pounds, exchanged through 18,039 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session,159 listed securities have been traded in; 65 declined, 48 advanced; while 43 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Arab and foreign investors were net sellers on Monday getting 10.14 %  and 6.46 % respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 9.707 million pounds and  778,662 thousand pounds , respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, Local investors were net buyers seizing 83.4 % of the total market, with a net equity of  10.486 million pounds, excluding the deals.
