On Monday’s closing session, the EGX pared its midday losses to eventually reach EGP 1.478 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 357.909 billion.
The main index, EGX30 edged down 0.42% to close at 5061.68 p. EGX20 inched lower 0.85% to close at 5881.49 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 sagged 0.85% to close at 434.63 p. Price index EGX100 went down 0.58% to close at 791.14 p.
Traded volume reached 96.010 million securities worth EGP 387.319 million, exchanged through 20.067 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 174 listed securities; 126 declined and 31 advanced while 17 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians were net buyers seizing 80.49% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 69.124 million, excluding the deals.
On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners and Arabs were net sellers seizing 15.06% and 4.46% respectively, with a net equity of EGP 66.796 million and EGP 2.328 million, excluding the deals.
EGX’s leading shares have closed in steeply downwards except for EGX’s top gainer, Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT) that climbed 0.71% to close at EGP 1.42.
EGX’s downwards led by EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO) which dived 3.42% to close EGP 12.72.
Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC) sagged 0.35% to conclude at EGP 279.29. Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE) decreased 0.30% to finish at EGP 3.37.
Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI) edged down 0.15% to reach EGP 26.22.
