Egypt’s ministry of planning allocated 8.87 billion Egyptian pounds (US$999mn)for National Authority for Potable Water and Sewage in the budget of the fiscal year of (2016/2017), the minister of housing Moustafa Madbouli said Tuesday.
The Authority has assigned 7.397 billion pounds for water and sanitation projects, while it has allocated 693.4 million pounds for replacement and renewal programmes, the minister noted.
He added that the ratified budget of the previous year was estimated by 4.995 billion pounds of which 4.471 billion pounds for water and sanitation projects and 423.4 million for replacement and renewal programmes.
The National Authority for Potable Water and Sewage has completed 84 projects during the previous fiscal year with budget of 6.313 billion pounds.
