Egypt’s Informal Settlements Development Fund has signed cooperation protocols with Gharbia and Dakahlia Governorates to upgrade and develop number of slums in each governorate.
The Egyptian Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail, has witnessed the signing ceremony along with the minister of housing and the minister of local development.
One agreement includes developing three risky slums in El-Mahalla El-Kubra, Gharbia governorate that suffer a shortage on the main utilities and poor roads with total cost of 21 million Egyptian pounds, funded by ISDF and to be completed within 12 months from receiving the site.
The other agreement also includes developing a risky slum in Mansoura city, Dakahlia Governorates with total cost of 36 million pounds
