Egypt will complete building its first coal-fired power plant within four or five years, the country’s Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker announced in a conference Tuesday.
The coal-fired power plant is located in Ayoun Moussa in the Suez area aimed to meet the country’s power shortage.
Coal will be sourced from international markets such as South Africa, Indonesia and others.
The new plant will provide a total of 3,960 megawatts of electricity.
