EGX Loses EGP 5.6 Bln, Orascom Telecom Shares 3.95% Down; Closing

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) had on Tuesday’s closing posted losses of EGP 5.65 billion  as the capital market has reached EGP 326.905 billion.

The main index, EGX30 dived 2.31% to close at 4502.91 p.  EGX20 shed 2.59% to end at 5098.46 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 sank 2.09% to conclude at 393.96 p. Price index EGX100 sagged 1.89% to finish at 702.73 p.

Traded volume reached 72.990 million securities worth EGP 214.431 million, exchanged through 15.688  thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 167 listed securities; 140 declined and 12 advanced while 15 keeping their previous levels.

Non-Arab Foreigners and Egyptians were net sellers seizing 82.69% and 13.87% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.997 million and EGP 1.036 million excluding the deals.

On the other hand, Arabs were net buyers seizing 3.44% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.034 million excluding the deals.

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective downwards led by the shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) which dived 3.95% finishing at EGP 2.92. Shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) sank 3.88% closing at EGP 1.24. Shares owned by Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) inched lower 2.14% ending at EGP 24.22.

Additionally, Shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) shed 2.09% concluding at EGP 248.22.

Shares owned by EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) sagged 1.84% closing at EGP 10.68.
