Egyptian Ministry of Finance revealed Sunday 11 companies paying the most tax in the country during the tax season ended on April 30, 2017.
The tax season, which started at the beginning of January and concluded on March 31 for natural persons and April 30 for legal persons and companies, saw an outcome of 21.3 billion Egyptian pounds ($1.2 billion) compared to 15.22 billion pounds last year.
Arab Petroleum Pipelines Company – SUMED came in the first position of Egypt’s top corporate taxpayers, followed by Elsewedy Electric, and then Orascom Construction Industries, Minister of Finance Amr el-Garhy stated.
Nestlé Egypt ranked fourth in the list, followed by Samsung Electronics, and then Madinet Nasr Housing and Development in the sixth position, Garhy added.
Telecom Egypt came in the seventh position, United Gas Derivatives Company in the eighth, Johnson Egypt in the ninth, Egyptian LNG Company in the tenth, and finally HSBC Bank in the eleventh, he noted.
