Dubai-based Souq.com, the leading online shopping and e-commerce provider, has entered into an agreement to purchase Wing.ae, a marketplace for merchants and couriers in the UAE, to provide an innovative mobile and web-based delivery solutions for businesses and individual consumers.
Souq, a subsidiary of Amazon.com, had previously invested in Wing.ae, and will be acquiring 100 per cent of the company but did not disclose the figure.
Amazon bought Souq in July to bring more products and offerings to the region’s online customers even faster.

Fast dependable delivery is key to this, and Wing.ae provides Souq.com customers with more convenience for their same and next day delivery,” Ronaldo Mouchawar, Souq.com CEO and co-founder, said in a statement.
Souq is already running a targeted promotion for free shipping for shoppers who makes a minimum purchase of Dh150 per transaction on products participating in the “Fulfilled by Souq” campaign.
Mouchawar said Wing will continue to invest in growing its same and next day delivery service in the region.
“The UAE is a leading e-commerce and smart hub in the region, and in this demanding business we work to fill the logistics supply gaps to offer customers the excellent service they want as fast as possible,” said Muzaffar Karabev, CEO and co-founder of Wing.ae.
He said that Wing will accelerate investments into its technology, infrastructure, and regional coverage to provide innovative delivery solutions and to make online shopping for Souq.com customers and merchants even more convenient.
