Egypt’s Central Bank governor, Tarek Amer, received the best Arab central bank governor in 2017 award from Lebanon Prime Minister Saad Al Hariri.
This came in the sidelines of the 23rd annual Arab Banking Conference 2017 that has begun on Thursday in Beirut entitled” A Twinning Partnership: Reconstruction and Development”. It is also organized by the Union Of Arab Banks. the ceremony was attended by A large number of political and economic leaders including Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
Last month, The Union of Arab Banks (UAB) has chosen Tarek Amer, as best Arab central bank governor in 2017.
In addition, Amer was named, Central Bank Governor of the Year for the Middle East and North Africa by GlobalMarkets; the newspaper of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank last August.
