During Tuesday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early losses of EGP 24 million as the capital market has amounted to EGP 337.754 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 09:10 GMT (11:10 a.m. in Cairo).
The main index, EGX30 tumbled 0.06% to hit 4865.36 p. EGX20 surged 0.13% to reach 5567.59 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged up 0.09% to hit 427.82 p. Price index EGX100 inched higher 0.14% to reach 735.24 p.
Traded volume reached 4.317 million securities worth EGP 49.648 million, exchanged through 1.074 transactions.
This was after trading in 67 listed securities; 16 declined 31 advanced while 20 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians were net buyers seizing 18.43% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 2.858 million excluding the deals.
The reason behind EGX30’ early downwards was that non-Arab Foreigners and Arabs were net sellers seizing 78.72% and 2.85% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.191 million and EGP 1.666 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective downwards except for the shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA)which soared 8.51% to hit EGP 0.51.
Commercial International Bank- Egypt:
The shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) have led EGX’s downwards by going down by 1.10% to reach EGP 28.75.
EFG-Hermes Holding:
The shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) inched lower 0.63% to hit EGP 11.05.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) declined by 0.31% to reach EGP 254.00.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
The shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) sank 0.30% to hit EGP 3.28.
Talaat Moustafa Group
Shares of Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) tumbled by 0.24% to reach EGP 4.08.
