Egypt’s Investment Minister flies to New York for UN ECOSOC forum
Egypt’s Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr headed to New York on Sunday to partake in the United Nation’s organised High-level Political Forum of Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in New York.
The minister is set to map out during her visit Egypt’s investment opportunities during the upcoming period.
Ahead of the visit, Nasr affirmed the ministry is moving forward to give further support to health, education, water desalination, and other sectors of top priority to the Egyptian people.
Nasr pointed out that Egypt’s investment map, prepared by the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation, in coordination with other ministries included investment opportunities in mega national projects in the country such as the Suez Canal development, the new administrative capital and new Alamein city projects.
The Egyptian minister will also hold talks during her visit with World Bank officials, discussing support for the US$1 billion Sinai development plan and the second phase of the social housing project with a $500 million in finance from the bank.
Nasr is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with the UN Development Program officials to discuss enhancing ways of cooperation between Egypt and the international entity.
