Egypt, China in talks over cooperation to manufacture electric cars

Egypt’s Public Business Sector Minister Hisham Tawfik discussed on Wednesday with Chinese Industry and Information Technology Minister Miao Wei cooperation in manufacturing electric cars through developing El-Nasr Automotive Company and the Engineering Company for Car Industry, the ministry said in a statement.

The two companies have many privileges, including good production lines, the appropriate infrastructure, equipment and the necessary licences, the minister said during the meeting in Beijing.

Talks also tackled the progress of the Egyptian economy in light of the latest economic reforms and incentives given to investors to pump their money into the Egyptian market.

The Chinese minister welcomed enhancing cooperation with Egypt, and underlined the importance of providing an appropriate infrastructure to manufacture electric cars.
