Egypt’s Ministry of Transport launched an campaign to promote its new policy on ports.
Rear Admiral Ayman Saleh Ibrahim, the president of the Egyptian Maritime Sector at the ministry, said Egyptian ports were taking serious steps towards adopting a new policy aiming at attracting more investments to the sector through offering incentives including tax reductions and discounted services.
The campaign would encourage cruise ships to sign contracts with Egypt’s shipping agencies to include Egyptian ports on the itinerary of their voyages, he added.
“The new advertising campaign is launched under the title ‘Egyptian Ports: Ancient history and New Policy’. The first ad will be about Salamis Filoxenia cruise, which will arrive at the Port of Alexandria on 19 October and will stay for two days as part of a schedule to visit the city sites and make a short trip to Cairo.
The cruise ship carries 350 passengers,” according to Ibrahim.
