Malaysian oil, gas investments in Egypt hit $9 billion – envoy
Malaysian investments in Egypt’s oil and gas sector are currently worth around $9 billion, said Malaysia’s ambassador to Cairo, Mohamed Abd Rahman on Wednesday.
Abd Rahman made his remarks during the visit of the first Malaysian economic delegation to Egypt in more than 8 years. The delegation attended the Malaysian-Egyptian Business Forum in Cairo.
Egypt plans to become a regional hub for the trade of liquefied natural gas after a string of major discoveries in the Mediterranean, making the country self-sufficient in gas by the end of 2018.
