Mobile Penetration Rate Hits 112.81%

According to a report issued by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the number of mobile subscribers in Egypt has reached about 92.64 million by the end of last July, with a 112.81% penetration rate. Whereupon the annual growth rates recorded 19.12%.

The report added that the number of internet subscribers in Egypt has hiked by 0.58% per month, compared to June, amounting to 31.03 million users by the end of last July. The number of internet users amounted to about 37.79% of the population, including 40.89% land line subscribers, with an annual growth rate of 6.33%.

The percentage of mobile subscribers via Broadband internet has reached 90,07%, while USB Modem 3.07 subscribers recorded one million.

On the other hand, the number of land line subscribers reached 8.41 million, with an annual decline of 0.87% , including 86% home subscribers, 11% commercial sector, and 3% governmental sector.

Concerning the postal sector, the number of post offices reached 37.94 providing services for 21.61 thousands people, including 4.75 pensioners. Postal Remittances  has dropped to 767 thousands in one month, with an annual growth of 6.38%.
