Ministry of Housing says invested $4 bln in Upper Egypt since 2014
Egypt’s Housing Ministry has invested 65.6 billion Egyptian pounds ($4 billion) in some projects in Upper Egyptian governorates from 2014 to date, its minister Assem El-Gazzar said on Monday.
The works include the implementation of a bunch of housing projects as well as drinking water and sewage stations, El-Gazzar added.
“The investments were directed to develop a number of Upper Egyptian governorates and provide investment and job opportunities in various fields there,” the minister said.
The ministry is currently establishing nine fourth-generation new cities in Upper Egypt to accommodate around 4.5 million populations, create 1.4 million job opportunities, and carry out touristic flagships over 1,050 feddans,” he added.
