Egypt doubles health insurance system to $558.3mn in FY2019 – PM

Egypt doubled the budget of its health insurance system to 9 billion Egyptian pounds ($558.3 million) during the 2018/2019 financial year, said prime minister on Tuesday.

The country doubled health insurance system’s budget to 1 billion pounds during the 2013/2014 financial year, Moustafa Madbouly added.

Madbouly made these remarks at an event organised by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce marking the 40th anniversary of the U.S.-Egypt Business Council.
