ACN 3rd conference kicks off in KSA

The Arab Competition Network (ACN) held its third annual conference on Tuesday, in Saudi Arabia and under the chairmanship of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as announced by the Egyptian cabinet.

The ACN was established in March 2022 at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo. Egypt was selected to lead the network for a two-year period.

During the past two years, the ACN has engaged in a range of activities to fulfill its vision, mission, and goals, such as regular meetings, collaborative research, training initiatives, capacity building, and knowledge exchange.

These activities were carried out through annual plans for the network’s working groups, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, competition law enforcement, and institutional efficiency, as per the same statement.

Over 30 workshops, training courses, conferences, and events were organised, involving member countries and international institutions. Joint technical teams issued guidelines for the institutional structure of competition authorities and institutional efficiency, serving as a reference for newly established competition authorities, the statement added.
