Egypt’s housing minister, Chinese ambassador discuss urban projects

The Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Assem El Gazzar, and the Acting Chinese Ambassador in Cairo, Zhang Tao, discussed the progress of urban development projects being implemented by Chinese companies in Cairo, the Egyptian Cabinet announced on Tuesday.

Al-Gazzar commended the efforts of the Chinese company “CSCEC” in advancing the Central Business District project, and expressed optimism about its timely completion. He reviewed the project’s execution status and preliminary acceptance timelines.

He also reviewed the progress of the “Downtown Towers” project in New Alamein City, another collaborative endeavor between the Ministry of Housing and “CSCEC.”

Ambassador Zhang Tao echoed Al-Gazzar’s sentiments, affirming the Chinese political leadership’s dedication to strengthening co-operation with Egypt, particularly in economic spheres, and facilitating the realisation of joint projects between the two nations.

Overall, the meeting highlighted the mutual commitment of both parties to advancing strategic partnerships and fostering economic development through collaborative initiatives in urban development and infrastructure.
