Alex Chamber To Hold Meeting With Italian Ambassador Over Joint Investments

Alexandria Chamber of Commerce will convene a meeting tomorrow in the presence of Claudio Pacifico, the Italian ambassador to Egypt, and some members of Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, in addition to a number of Egyptian and Italian businessmen. The meeting will take up the opportunities of commercial cooperation between the two countries, as well the joint investments.

It will discuss the Italian companies’ desire to invest in Egypt, boosting the value of trade exchange between the two countries. Power, services, tourism, construction and agriculture, in addition to the banking and financial sectors are considered to be the most important sectors that the Italian companies will invest in.

Italy is the first trade partner to Egypt on the European level; whether concern the trade volume or accommodating the Egyptian exports. It is also the second partner after the US. In 2011, Egypt’s exports to Italy recorded 2.5 billion Euro, while Egypt’s imports from the Italian market reached 3.2 billion Euro at the same year.
