AmCham Egypt launches new head office in Virginia to boost Egypt-US trade

Egypt’s American Chamber of Commerce has inaugurated a new head office in Virginia, Southern of United States, the chamber announced in a statement.

Under the chairmanship of Hisham Fahmy Executive Director of AmCham Egypt, the new head office is set to bolster the trade and investment activities between Egypt and the United States as well as to enable Egyptian private sector firms to explore more export opportunities in the U.S. markets.

Accordingly, Tamer El Naggar was named the new Executive Director of AmCham’s Egypt office.

Tamer El Naggar joined the AmCham after 22 years of holding various leadership roles in the marketing research & consultancy industry in the MENA region, and most recently as Chief Executive Officer of TNS North Africa (part of the WPP group) in 2012. Throughout his career, he has worked with companies on advancing their success through better understanding of their markets & consumers. In his various roles, he has shown strong commercial delivery manifested through the financial & equity growth of the corporations he led.

El Naggar has also been a strong advocate of a larger role for the marketing research industry, and has a notable contribution through public speaking, research papers and developing the first Arabic industry code of conduct for the European Society for Opinion Polling & Marketing Research (ESOMAR), with which El Naggar has been the Egypt representative since 2009.

ElNaggar has been an active member and supporter of the AmCham since 2004 and a member of its core Marketing Committee. El Naggar obtained his MBA from the Maastricht school of management in Globalization and his bachelor degree in business administration from the American University in Cairo.
