APA investigates With Govt Over Tax Evasion

Administrative Prosecution Authority (APA) referred the case (72/2012) to the Central Auditing Organization (CAO) for study. The case concerns the payroll tax evasion of the sectors of the state’s governmental apparatus.

This came due to the complaint filed by Khaled Abdel Naby Mahmoud, former director of income taxes studies, Egypt Tax Authority (ETA), on 28th August.

He said 49 persons were arbitrarily suspended by the finance minister’s decision, without issuing a decision by the APA, as they objected on many taxes policies of the authority.

Abdel Naby added that the tax evasion in the governorates and ministers and all the governmental authorities amounts to 62% of the targeted outcomes, it reached EGP 12.9 billion from 2007 to 2012.
