Arab Academy, ITIDA sign MoU for Egypt technology parks

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the IT arm of the Egyptian Ministry of Communications, has signed Saturdaya memorandum of understanding with Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport.

The Academy will serve as the scientific advisor for technology areas in field of human resources development and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. It will start performing its mission during carrying out the first phase of the national project to deploy technology in Borg El Arab and New Assiut technological parks.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Yasser El-Kady has witnessed the signing.

This was part of the minister’s supervisory visit to Borg El Arab Technology Park with Asmaa Hosny, CEO of ITIDA, and Mohamed Abdel-Zaher, Alexandria Governor.

The MoU was signed by CEO of ITIDA and Ismail Abdel Ghaffar – President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, aiming to benefit from both authorities in establishing more technology areas outside Cairo.

The memorandum stipulates that the Academy is responsible for concluding cooperation agreements with governmental and non-governmental universities in addition to the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Seminars should also be held to raise awareness of available industries in technology areas as well as required skills to work there.
