Arab Contractors to finish 5 wheat silos worth $95.8 mn

Egypt leading contracting company, Arab Contractors is set to finish building 5 wheat silos with the total value of EGP 750 million ($95.8 million) by the middle of April 2016, Mohsen Salah, chairman of the company’s board, said on Wednesday.

The company is working hard to finish building the wheat silos in Borg El Arab as soon as possible, salah noted.

Furthermore, AC has already built 8 wheat silos as part of the first phase of wheat silos program with total cost of 1.2 million Egyptian pounds.

UAE allotted a $4.9 billion grant to establish 25 wheat silos in Egypt with a collective capacity of 1.5 million tons to help prevent the loss of billions of dollars worth of wheat each years.

Egypt embarked on a program to sharply decrease wheat loss, grow more wheat in reclaimed desert land, as it imports tons of wheat each year to cover the needs of bread, a subsidized, staple good.
