Banque Misr increases its SMEs portfolio to EGP15 bln
Egypt’s second-largest state-run bank, Banque Misr, the Small and medium enterprises portfolio amounted tp 15 billion Egyptian pounds in mean time compared to 1.5 billion by the end of 2015, Sherif El-Behery the Head of Banque Misr’s SMEs & Micro Finance Department.
He added during the 5th Akhbar Al-Yom Economic Conference that the bank injects an amount of 150 million Egyptian pounds monthly.
He further noted the SMEs portfolio is distributed over four sectors equally namely industry, services, commercial, and construction.
The volume of SMEs portfolio has posted 8 billion pounds by the end of December 2017. Thus the portfolio’s volume has increased 31 percent in 5 months.
