Belgium’s agricultural output prices climb 8.8%

Belgium’s output price index saw an 8.8 per cent increase in June 2024 compared to the previous year, primarily driven by a significant 44.8 per cent surge in horticultural products.

Within this category, vegetable prices soared by 71.2 per cent, fruit prices rose by 32.9 per cent, and inedible products increased by 7.4 per cent.

While animal product prices also grew by 5.8 per cent, the overall index for animals fell by 4.4 per cent, mainly due to an 11.7 per cent drop in pig prices.
