BREAKING: Egypt reports 149 new coronavirus cases, 7 more deaths

Egypt has reported 149 new coronavirus cases, a new record daily increase, bringing the total number of cases to 1322, a health ministry statement showed on Monday.

The North African country also reported seven new deaths from the virus, bringing the total fatalities to 85, the statement added.

The newly infected cases are all Egyptian nationals who returned from abroad or were in contact with previously confirmed cases in Egypt, according to health ministry spokesperson Khaled Megahed.

The total number of the fully-recovered cases jumped to 259 on Monday, including a foreign woman, all have been discharged from isolation hospitals, Megahed added.
