Egyptian businessman Mansour El Gammal dies from coronavirus

Egyptian businessman Mansour El Gammal, chairman of NewGiza Real Estate Development, has died from coronavirus complications at the age of 58 in Cairo, his son Yehia said on Monday.

El Gammal felt mild flu-like symptoms for few days but then things were getting worse quickly as he developed pneumonia.

He was then receiving oxygen treatment.

El Gammal graduated from the Faculty of Law, and started his career as a diplomat at the League of Arab States, until he became head of mission. He then turned to the business world, launching many projects in Egypt and many countries across the world.

He was the uncle of Khadija El-Gammal, the wife of late president Hosni Mubarak’s son, Gamal.
