Breaking: Egypt’s Premier Tenders His Resignation

Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Hisham Kandil has tendered his resignation to President Mohamed Morsi, the state-channel El-Hayyat TV reported few minutes ago.

The news report did not elaborate or say further information about the reasons behind Dr. Kandil’s resignation.

The sense of disintegration in the administration has been heightened by the resignations tendered by the ministers on Monday, who are not members of Mr Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr has also joined four ministers – of environment, legal affairs, communication and legal affairs, late Monday.

On Monday afternoon, Egypt’s army gave President Morsi and opposition groups 48 hours to resolve the country’s political deadlock.

Otherwise, army chief-of-staff General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, said the army will provide its own “road map” to the future.
