Cairo bourse ends bullish with gains of 8bn pounds

Cairo bourse concluded in green with gains estimated at 8.1 billion Egyptian pounds (US$434 million) on Tuesday on Egyptian and Arab buying appetite.

The market capitalisation reached 620.397 billion pounds at the closing session of Tuesday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 soared by 1.83 percent to 13014.54 points.

The EGX50 EWI index went up by 0.88 percent to 2001.8 points.

EGX20 increased by 1.04 percent to 13117.54 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 climbed by 0.56 percent to 463.2 points. The price index, EGX100 inched up by 1.51 percent to 1121.04 points.

 

Turnovers Up

On Tuesday, the bourse’s trading volume has recorded 467.916 million securities, with turnovers closed at 1.781 billion pounds, exchanged through 38,093 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 171 listed securities have been traded in; 51 declined, 83 advanced; while 36 kept their previous levels.

 

Investors’ Activities

Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers on Teusday capturing 77.38 percent and 8.22 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 6.546 million pounds and 13.506 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, non-Arab investors were net sellers getting 14.4 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 20.053 million pounds, excluding the deals.
