Cairo bourse ends higher, indices in green

Egypt’s stocks finished higher on Wednesday with gains worth 882 million Egyptian pounds (US$ 112.6million).

The market capitalisation has recorded 418.347 billion pounds during the closing session of Wednesday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 rose by 0.10 percent to 6413.97 points.

The newly-launched EGX50 EWI index went up by 0.61 percent to 1102.22 points.

EGX20 jumped by 0.89 percent to 6295.74 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 soared by 1.04 percent to 349.18 points. The price index, EGX100 grow by 0.62 percent to 759.3 points.

Turnovers low

On Wednesday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 273.040 million securities, with turnovers closed at 463.405 million pounds, exchanged through 20,111 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 155 listed securities have been traded in; 44 declined, 74 advanced; while 35 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers on Wednesday seizing 71.46% and 5.3% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 33.927 million and EGP 10.860 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the foreign investors were net sellers getting 23.24% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 44.787 million, excluding the deals.
