Cairo governorate removes 75% of Tal al Aqareb’s slums

Egyptian government has completed developing 75 percent of life threatening Tal al Aqareb district, Cairo governor Atef Abdel-Hamid said Saturday.

The governorate plans to deliver alternative and safe social housing units to the residents of Tal al Aqareb district soon, he added.

Tel Al-Aqareb’s slum is located on seven feddans next to El-Sayeda Zainab Square. It is one of the biggest second degree unsafe slums.

The Egyptian government cooperates with the Ministry of Housing to carry out 18 buildings, including a number of shops and all other required services in Tel Al-Aqareb.
