Cairo’s bourse concludes week with modest gains of $ 115mn

Egypt’s stock market edged higher on Thursday with gains 903 million Egyptian pounds (US$ 115 million) on local and foreign sell off .

The market capitalization has recorded 386.214 billion pounds during the closing session of Thursday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 dropped by 0.55 percent to 5944.47 points.

The EGX50 EWI index went down up 0.32 percent to 1097.14 points.

EGX20 increased by 0.32 percent to 5970.91 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 decreased by percent 0.25 to 349.39 points. The price index, EGX100 sagged by 0.16 percent 704.41points.

Turnovers high

On Thursday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 124.389 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 299.249 million, exchanged through 16,678 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session,159 listed securities have been traded in; 68 declined, 46 advanced; while 41 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Local and foreign investors were net  sellers on Thursday seizing 82.61percent and 10.14 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 9.088 million and EGP 14.999 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the Arab investors were net buyers getting 7.25 % of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 24.087 million, excluding the deals.
