CAPMAS: 12.1% Rise In Egypt’s Inbound Tourism During Feb 2013

The number of the tourists that coming from different countries across the world reached 845.000 ones during February 2013, compared to 753.000 tourists in February 2012, rose by 12.1%. Although the remarkable rise in 2013, but the number of the tourists is less than the rate in February 2010, which amounted to 1.070 million tourists; according to the monthly tourism statement releases by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The number of the touristic nights in February 2013 reached up to 11.5 million nights, in return for 8.3 million ones in February 2012, 39% up.

In February 2013, the majority of tourists were coming from Western Europe, then Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. However, the number of tourists coming from the Arab countries reached 149.000, compared to 143.000 in February 2012, rose by 4.4%.

The number of the touristic nights spent by the Arab tourists amounted to 2.7 million nights in February 2013, in return for 2.4 million ones in February 2012, 13.8% up.

The average number of the touristic nights at the same period reached up to 14.8 nights per a tourist, compared to 11.7 nights in February 2012.
