CBE Nominates Hisham Okasha As NBE Chairman: Sources

Hisham Okasha, deputy chairman of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), has been nominated to be the new chairman of the bank, sources at Egypt’s Cabinet said.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt has nominated Okasha to the position after Tarek Amer resigned at the middle of last January.

Sources revealed that the decision of promoting Okasha to be the chairman of the state-owned bank is delayed because he is the son of the Psychiatrist Dr. Ahmed Okasha who has analyzed the presidential speeches and attacked Muslim Brotherhood in TV talks shows.
