Chinese Midea group launches $25 mln washing machine factory in SCZone

Chinese home appliances giant Midea Group launched its $25 million washing machine factory in TEDA industrial zone in Ain Sokhna, the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) announced on Tuesday.

The new plant aims to meet the needs of the domestic market for household appliances and exports to international markets, according to General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone’s chairman Walid Gamal El-Din.

He praised the strategic location of the economic zone and the integration between the industrial zones and the ports of the authority, which allows for the facilitation of export of products and goods to different markets.

It is noteworthy that the new dishwasher factory began construction in 2021 on an area of 60,000 square meters, within the scope of the industrial developer, TEDA Egypt.
