CI Capital: Cabinet Formation A Step Forward, Economic Challenges To Continue Looming

CI Capital Research issued a report on the formation of the the long-awaited cabinet headed by Hisham Kandil. It described the cabinet as a step forward in setting up Egypt’s new political platform, noting that the presence of established figures in key positions will likely expedite access to international funding.

The report indicated that the presence of a majority presence of veteran technocrats should ease fears of the cabinet’s inability to impose change.

Although the cabinet’s formation does show consensus-building, there are still inherent risks, the report said.

It added that the slow decision-making process and the lack of short-term solutions to pressing economic challenges will likely continue looming as major risks are weighing on investment sentiment.
