Citi appoints new North Africa, Levant, Central Asia head

Citi group has appointed Omar Hafeez new CEO for its operations in North Africa, Levant and Central Asia, Reuters reported on Monday. The region covers dynamic areas such as Egypt, Turkey, and Tunisia among others.

Hafez has a long history serving Citi Bank in several regions such as Japan, New York, Nigeria, Pakistan and Tanzania. His new job posting will be based in Dubai.

“Industry transition, commodity values and trade flows will drive commercial activity and Citi is best positioned to intermediate,” Hafez commented.
