Cleopatra Ceramics Workers Break Into Suez Governorate Building

Cleopatra Ceramics Workers protested in front of Suez governorate building; condemning Mohamed Abou El Enein’s decision of suspending the factory’s movement. The workers broke into the governorate headquarters, meanwhile, the ladies and workers escaped the building; a scene proves the lax of security, chaos and negligence.

The workers gathered outside the governor bureau, chanting against Abou El Enein. At once, Central security car and police forces are approaching the building now, according to ONA.

Ahmed Youssef, workers spokesman, said working in the factory suspended yesterday, and the buses which usually ferry the workers to the factory failed to show up, fuelling speculation the management had reneged on the agreement.

Ceramica Cleopatra, one of Egypt’s biggest ceramics firms, has been hit by intermittent strikes for months as factory workers complain of low wages.

Suez, located at the southern entrance to the Suez Canal, was the scene of early and intense clashes between government security forces and protesters during the uprising that ousted Mubarak.
